Thank You Mitt

Many thanks to Mitt Romney for being a light on a hill while it lasted. I admire him for representing that which is good and right in life, he was the closest thing to a true conservative that we had in this race. John McCain is not the real Republican candidate- he will now talk a good game to get the conservatives on his side but his record has not shown that he can be a trusted to do the right thing. McCain-Feingold (killed the First Amendment rights for freedom of speech) and McCain-Kennedy(amnesty for illegal immigrants) are examples of him crossing the aisle to the Democrats for things that are inherently Democrat but has he ever persuaded any of them to come join him for a Republican-led piece of legislation? Yes, he will be OK on the war on terror but he is part of the problem, how can he be part of the solution? John McCain has had his turn and has not succeeded. Although it may never be talked about openly, was there some kind of deal struck with Mike Huckabee to continue his campaign to draw away conservatives from Romney? Huckabee has no chance at the nomination but his help for McCain might win him a place in McCain's cabinet if he should succeed in November. We might never know.
However, I have found the real reason Mitt wasn't elected- this dumb video. Watch it and then realize that you will never get those three minutes of your life back to do something productive-

Ann Coulter Endorsing Hillary?

Irony is an understatement with this video, I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Ann Coulter endorses Hillary Clinton over John McCain. Are you kidding me? However, she makes some valid points about McCain being as liberal or more so than the ex-First Lady. For me, either is a tragedy in the making as well as Obama. I will give Obama this though- he graciously changed his plans to come to Salt Lake City on Saturday in respect for President Hinckley's funeral. With Super Tuesday coming up and his need for every vote he can get, I applaud him for making a good decision. The push for marijuana to be legal by Obama didn't do anything for me though. I don't agree with their positions on the war, on how to stimulate the economy (slow the economy down, Bill Clinton??), gay marriage, federal vs. state rights, abortion, spending and waste of big government, immigration, and global warming. Where is the Republican leadership lately? Mitt is the closest thing to an inspiration and that is a push at best. I like Mitt Romney, not just because he is LDS, but I also agree with many of his positions. He and Fred Thompson would have made a strong Republican ticket, but alas . . .
